Is leading the team into first place of the AFC West convincing enough?
The Denver Broncos were 1-4 to start the season going into their Bye Week when they turned the quarterback keys over to Tim Tebow.
Since that time, the Broncos have taken the AFC West lead, winning six out of their past seven contests with Tebow starting under center.
However, Executive Vice President of Football Operations John Elway has not been quick to praise Tebow or annoint him the team’s quarterback of the future.
“We saw him take big strides yesterday,” Elway said during his weekly radio spot. “He read out the two long passes and I think that, offensively, especially the second half, we came out and did a little play-action, which really helped us. The receivers did a heck of a job getting open, and Tim was able to get them the ball.”
“I know everybody wants to know, but our future’s right now,” Elway said. “When you look at where we are, the future is the Chicago Bears. I think the city’s excited about it, the fans are excited about where we are right now. The future is now, and I think the key thing is for us to continue to keep focused on each game coming up and try to win this division and get in the playoffs and see what happens.”
How long will it take Elway to realize and admit Tebow is the answer and future at QB for the Broncos?
