OK here’s my take on the whole Tebow thing. I know this will make or break me with some people, but guess what I don’t care, I’m getting tired of some of these ridiculous views people on both sides have.
Lets start from the beginning. Tim Tebow college stats: 67.1 completion percentage 9,286 yards, 88 TDs, 15 INTs, 692 rushing attempts, 2,947 yards, and 57 TDs. That’s some insane stats Ill give you that, but that was college and this is the NFL. Am I saying the Broncos should give up on him? No. But do I think that he should play now? No.
There are more than a few QBs now-a-days that had to sit and hold a clipboard for a while before they took the reigns. I say let Tebow learn, the Broncos aren’t going to win the Superbowl this year so let him learn. Now, the one thing I’ll give in to is, if this year is a complete wash then sure, let Tebow learn at game speed, because there’s only so much you can learn in practice.
Let’s all agree that no coach is going to say “screw it, this year is done already” after one game. No coach will say let’s start this guy and he will fix everything wrong with our defense. Truthfully, I feel Tebow would have done worse on Monday because the Raiders would not have played the same defense against defense, and as my wife said, “No one can throw without those fat f%#$s blocking up front to give him some time.”
Now, I ask for one thing, wait until the lowly Bengals come to Denver, if we still lose, because of Orton, not the defense or lack of a running game, then I’ll readdress this but for now PLEASE see that Orton doesn’t play defense and he isn’t the running backs or the recievers who dropped the ball so many times on Monday night.
