Today’s Denver Post says that Brandon Marshall isn’t a distraction according to coach McDaniels:
Brandon Marshall and representative Kennard McGuire have made it clear they would like a trade if the Broncos aren’t inclined to negotiate a new deal after back-to-back 100-catch seasons. Marshall is set to earn $2.198 million this season, under his original contract. Throughout training camp, media and fans have gauged everything from his body language to where he has lined up in the offense and how much he has appeared in significant team drills to figure out what’s going on. It appears to be a brewing pot, headed for a boil, that could drag the Broncos down with it. “I think that’s very inaccurate,” said McDaniels on Tuesday, when asked if he felt Marshall’s situation was affecting the team’s business on a day-to-day basis. “We’re going through our meetings, we’re having practices, watching film, getting ready for opponents and again, he’s part of all that. We’re just getting ready to play the season.” Asked then if Marshall has been a distraction, McDaniels said simply, “No.”
