Good morning, Bronco fans. It is week 11 in the NFL and things could not be worse for our beloved Broncos. After losing 5 straight, the Broncos (3-6) have become the laughing stock of the NFL. They have completely unraveled offensively, defensively and mentally. The coaches are in over their heads and the players have not found a way to gel as a unit. The Broncos have allowed opposing teams to score 92 points in the last two games. Yeah, 2 games.
Can someone point me to the lost and found? Where is the identity of this team? Where are the play makers? Where did Von Miller, Demaryius Thomas and the No Fly Zone go? What happened to the special teams unit? This season has exposed Denver as a very plain, lackluster and vanilla team. The schemes have shown no creativity, other than finding ways to lose. The passion is gone, the press conference answers by the coaching staff are cliche, and this team has no true leader, and that is obvious.
Even though the Broncos are heading towards the cellar, there are still 7 very meaningful games left to be played for these Broncos. There is still something to play for. No, I don’t expect Denver to go on a 7 game winning streak and sneak into the playoffs as a wildcard, although stranger things have happened. People are playing for their jobs now. Coaches are coaching for their jobs. The pressure of winning the division and making the playoffs is long gone. This is about their heart, their pride and their livelihood.
The Broncos need a hero. They need a spark, and they need a leader. I am not sure where they are going to get it from, but someone has to step up. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, all while expecting different results. This team is insane and not in a good way.
Standing across the field from the Broncos today is a team heading in the same direction. The Bengals come into the game with a 3-6 record having lost 3 of their last 4 games. This team has play makers, they have a decent quarterback and they have a good defense, but also find themselves among the bottom of the barrel in the NFL.
Today, our hero reemerges. His name is Von Miller. I expect a big game from Miller, who will turn in 3 sacks and 1 forced fumble, as the Broncos start to find their identity. Creativity will be the key.
Final Score Prediction
Cincinnati Bengals – 13
Denver Broncos – 27
