The time has come to make the final QB change of the season. It is time to see if the saying is “In Elway We Trust” or “In Elway We Bust”. 23 year old QB Paxton Lynch, a product of Memphis, was highly coveted by GM John Elway and that was made apparent when Elway traded up in the very first round to obtain the signal caller. In 3 seasons with Memphis, Lynch completed 63% of his pass attempts, and had a 59/23 TD to Interception ratio, however, that success did not translate over to the NFL in Lynch’s first 3 appearances.
Last season, Lynch played in 3 games, starting 2 of them. He completed 59% of his passes, threw 2 touchdowns and was picked off once. While the sample size we have received is small, it is time to get a bigger and better look at our first round draft pick.
The season is virtually over for Denver, unless something can spark this team on both offense and defense. Will Paxton Lynch be the hero that Denver needs? I don’t know, you don’t know and the Broncos brass doesn’t know either. So, now is the time to find out if this was a smart pick, or simply a bust.
I’ve seen enough of Siemian and Brock to know what they are capable of doing, good and bad. We need a leader. Paxton, what say you?
