Going on’s.

Hello, Bronco Country It is official free agent tamper time. This means teams can talk with agents of other team players. They also can issue tender contracts with their own team players as we have seen in the last couple days. Rumors abound but there is as much not talked about as talked about. Rumors are that players that have been agent contacted are Julius Byrd safety from the Bills and T.J. Ward from the Browns. Also safeties Louis  Delmar of the Lions and Mike Mitchell of the Panthers who is just 26 with his first 3 years in Oakland and had a breakout year in Carolina last season.
They also have interest in Golden Tate from Seattle who had almost 900 yards recieving last year and could also possibly serve as a returner and thus save a roster spot.
Other things are Zane Beadles all things equal would love to stay with Broncos. And I am sure they are pursuing at least one of the top defensive ends which include Jared Allen-Vikings, Michael Bennet-Seahawks, Justin Tuck- NYG, Lamar Houston- Raiders and Michael Johnson-Bengals as they have around 30M cap room, with the release of Champ Bailey, which was heart wrenching with most of us. It is rumored that the Ravens and Falcons are interested in him.
Other rumors are that Darren Sproles and Chris Johnson, RB’s from the Saints and Titans respectively may possibly be of interest to the Broncos. As you know all of this is a mix of fact and conjecture,  which could change topsy-turner in a flash! So stay tuned as the official free agency where teams can contact players and agents and start offering contracts starts on Tuesday the 11th at 4:00 pm. They can also start offering  qualified offers to their own free agents and start signing them. This is also the official start to the league year. This is when things really start get intersecting! After that the next big event is the League’s Owner Meetings on the 23rd-26th in Orlando. Issues being discussed will be adding a playoff team to each conference, which would result in only one bye week team and 3 games on both Saturday and Sunday the first weekend of the playoffs. Also extending the season to 18 games by eliminating a couple of exhibition games. The players are generally not enamored of this plan, so it’s a long shot at this time. They will also explore adding a 7th referee to each crew. None of these issues would be instituded before the 2015 season or beyond.
Then we look forward to the draft, which has been pushed back two weeks this year to May 8-10th. A couple of other things that happen in April and early May are the league schedule is released in the latter half of April and on April 21st the Broncos can start offseason workouts which will continue through May. And May 2nd is the deadline for restricted free agents to sign offer sheets.
Use a lot of wisdom, Elway and crew and get us some dynamite players for another run on the Super Bowl! Go, Go Broncos!
