Broncos fandom.

I am writing this because I am so appreciative of how precious and rare it is to get to a SuperBowl, let alone win one. We came so very close to getting the same chance last year as we all know. The season started out with Fax gate and the loss of Elvis Duvergale. Then started the season with Von Miller’s 6 game suspension and towards the end of the season Coach Foxes emergency heart surgery. They fought that and also all the injuries and resultant abscesses. Thank God we are deep because next man up was a common occurrence this season. They fought through all that and kept their focus and earned a SuperBowl berth. And I as a fan also started writing here at broncosgab.com, which gave me another way to experience and express my fandom. I am so grateful for that opportunity this SuperBowl season.
The Broncos have played in 6 Superbowls, losing the first four in 1977,1986,1987 and 1989 (All seasons, not SuperBowl dates) before winning those two in a row with John Elway at QB in 1997 and 1998. So it is very tough to get to the SuperBowl, but to win is rare and precious. It has now been 15 long hard seasons since we have been there and I am so happy all the potential I saw in this Bronco team realized! And for it to coincide with this opportunity to write about them in such a special year is amazing.
I predicted that they would go 14-2 or 13-3 before the season started and they hit it. I started out the season watching the opening game with the Ravens in their Stadium in Baltimore. I was flown out, all expenses paid to participate in the Crown Royal Fantasy Football League Draft Party in a suite in Ravens Stadiums. During that we got a tour of the Stadium and got a sense of how rare it has been for that franchise to reach the SuperBowl. They were the Baltimore Colts before. The Owner at that time moved the team and franchise to Indianapolis in the dead of night. Eventually NFL football returned from which the Ravens were born. I want you to appreciate Pat Bowlen, Red Miller and previous owners for keeping the franchise not only in Denver but as a stable organization. They are an original and charter American Conference member. And you have a chance to watch the first ever in SuperBowl history matchup of the Broncos top – rated dynamic offense against the stout Seahawks top – rated defense. Never has happened until now and probably not again in our lifetimes.Talk about rarified air.
Lastly, a big thank you to each and everyone of you Broncos fan in Broncos Country which spans America and Internationaly. In that vein I would like to make a special shout out to my 2 Irish Broncos fan friends, Karl O’Shaunessy and Hugh (Hugo) Dailey. Keep on rooting for the Broncos your Irish way!
Again a big thank you from the bottom of my heart to all you wonderful Broncos fans; you rock and we are United in Orange and it’s Time to Ride, Broncos and fans. See you all Feb.2nd,2014 for our SuperBowl. GO, GO Broncos, Orange Crush the Seahawks!!!
