Broncos still control destiny!

The Broncos were fortunate that Miami defeated the Patriots and still can grab the #1 seed, which would give a much needed rest for our football warriors. More time  for any injured to heal and those not hurt to heal up some of the, bumps, bruises and aches. They win out starting with the Texans Sunday and they will earn that seed. They will have a better record than New England and the head to head tiebreaker with K.C. should they win out over the Texans and Raiders.

And that loss with the Chargers will force them to refocus on what is good,  what is needed to improve and focus on that and their foe, and that only. They have had a few more days to digest the loss  and work on their refocus, and it can be a good thing if they make it so. I believe they will do just that. And they will have Rahim Moore  back for the playoffs and also signed Jerermy Mincey to help fill the void created by the injury to Kevin  Vickerson and illness  of Derek Wolfe. He has some upside in improving inside pressure on the QBs. He will probably be used at least initially in situationally in obvious passing downs. He was courted by Dallas and New Orleans and others, but grabbed the rope dangled from the Broncos.  He said the Broncos have excellent comaridie and was greeted by open arms. That just shows you the lockerroom is great and a lot of love and support is shown to each other. They made room on the roster by releasing Center J. D. Walton who has struggled with injuries the last two seasons. I would not be surprised with a Bronco reunion in J.D.’s future either. He was a very good solid Center until hurt and still has some upside in his career.

And I am sure the O-Line has been working hard to get their rhythm and Mojo back after a so-so job against the Chargers. We need to get Moreno and Ball rolling again after a tepid performance and get the ball rolling again with the running game against the Texans. And back to  the kind of protection they gave to Peyton prior to the Charger game. So winning in the trenches on both offense and defense will be vital. The whole defensive roster needs to pick up its’ intensity and relearn how to get off the field and give Peyton and our offense as many posessions as possible. Getting spanked by the Chargers should incentive our defense too. If they can pull it all together again, which I believe they will, and go into Houston and win big Sunday, they could be three wins from a SuperBowl victory. A win Sunday and a win over the Raiders in Oakland would give them a home date with the lowest surviving seed, which would be the 4-6 seed, most probably Indianopolis, Kansas City or Miami or Baltimore who are vying for that #6 seed. We beat Kansas City twice, Baltimore once and lost to Indy. So we are 3-1 against those teams this season. But it starts with a win against the Texans, so Go, Go Broncos and tear up the Texans right from the opening kickoff. Smack them with a huge Orange Crush on your way to victory #12!!!

I predicted before the season started that the Broncos would finish at 13-3 or 14-2. And they have an excellent chance to go 13-3 if they get down to brass tacks this week and work really harder to get better at anything that needs to be improved.  I feel confident they will do so and I see it 45-20! And as Mincey aptly put it”We’re on a mission to do one thing, and that’s to get to the next level and y’all know what that is!” Sure do and I know he and all his Bronco team mates will play their hearts and souls out this week and beyond! Just git er done, Broncos!
