After another win over the Kansas City Chiefs, the Denver Broncos could almost coast into the top seed in the AFC playoffs. With a one game lead over Kansas City and a tie breaker, the Broncos are the favorite to get the No. 1 seed in the AFC with a first round bye. The Broncos can’t hit cruise control too much as their opponent in Week 14, the Tennessee Titans, are still fighting for a playoff spot. The Titans, at 5-7, are still in the race for the final seed in the AFC that has the leader currently at 6-6.
Since the Broncos are set to have at least one home game in the playoffs and possibly two, Broncos fans seem to be saving their money for that playoff run. Denver Broncos tickets have an average secondary market ticket price of $211, which is 34% below the average price for Denver home games this season. The price is also down 23% over the past week, but 113% above the average price for Tennessee Titans tickets on the road this season.
What could be interesting in this matchup will be Peyton Manning against the Tennessee defense. The Titans have quietly put together one of of the league’s better defenses against the pass. Manning, with 41 passing touchdowns through 12 games, is on pace to throw for 56 touchdowns this season. The NFL record for touchdown passes in a season is 50, set by Tom Brady in 2007 during the undefeated Patriots season. Manning is averaging around three touchdown passes per game, so two or three could keep Manning on pace to break the single-season record.
This is also the last Sunday of the regular season for Broncos fans to see a home game as they only have one home game left for the rest of the season, next Thursday night against the San Diego Chargers. For fans who have not had the chance to see the Broncos this season, this could be the best option.
