Broncos Bag.

The biggest storyline for this weeks Bronco game  with the Colts is of course Peyton’s return to Indianapolis. No doubt he will be greeted warmly by the Colts and their fans. And he will not let himself to get overly distracted,  so he will take it in stride.  I am sure the center/qb exchanges have been and will be a center of attention.  And he will not be forcing a pass after that pick 6 he threw into triple coverage. So the offense should get back on track. Knowshawn is finally looking like a very solid NFL RB. Ball and Hillman will get added pass receiving drills and ball security drills after the dropped passes and Hillman’s fumble. So turmovers on offense hopefully will not occur this week either. This tuneup of the offense is at a good time going into a tough game. And it’s good that we faced some adversity having to play a full 60 mimutes to top the Cowboys followed by this ugly win over the Jaguars. All great teams find a way to win in close games and when they are not playing at their best level. Lessons learned I am sure and their focus and center should be excellent this week. I am sure Peyton will want to play very well this week and that is usually effective with the whole mien of the team. They know they played their worst game of the season and found a way to win the game. Now they need to turn it up a few notches and that is what their goal is this week. We should have Ayres and Wesley back, Champ will be more comfortable in his role  plus most Importantly Von will be like a caged panther in his Strongside Linebacker position. Malik Jackson had his best day as a Bronco and we squaushed the Jax running game. With a tougher pass rush we should start playing akin to last years defense which was a top 5 defense all of last season. All things considered, the Broncos are in a good place. Most of the so called experts thought they would be lucky to go 3-3 without Von and Champ. I felt they might lose one or two and they are 6-0 with a good chance to go into their break week 8-0 if they stay focused and play like they are capable of, which currently is the best team In this years NFL. And indeed that is a very good place to be!

On another note, when Orlando Franklin was injured, they moved Vasquez over to Right Tackle and inserted Chris Kuper in at Right Guard. Another possibility is to use Winston Justice at that tackle position and Vasquez back at his Right Guard position. There was barely a hiccup after  the shuffle so depth came in handy again.  Franklin has a strained knee and ankle. We should know more about his condition as the week progresses. Go Broncos and have a great week of practice on your way to Orange Crush the Colts on Sunday. If they can get past this hurdle only a home game with the Redskins stands between them and that 8-0 record into the break!

Onwards, Broncos to that date in February in NYC!
