A few thoughts on St. Louis game.

1. Ryan Clady got about a quarter of strong play in before being replaced by Chris Clark early in the second quarter. Welcome back Ryan, it is good to see you out there again!

2. Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie played very well at cornerback before being relieved by  2013 draft pick Kayvon Webster who has had an impressive camp himself.

3. Andre Caldwell shone as a receiver and will probably make roster as the fourth receiver. Speedster Tavares King, another 2013

draft pick from Georgia, will make the squad as a fifth. Trinton Holliday will be penciled in as a sixth, but his main role will stay as kick returner with spot duty as a receiver.

4. Though most of the starters played well into the third quarter, the Broncos made it without any additional injuries, which bodes well for the Raven game as Welker, Bailey,  Wolfe and Ayers are all expected back to action by tben.

5. Running game was much improved in effectiveness. Ronnie Hillman had a a 16yd. burst and Montee Ball had  runs of  10 and 11 yards and also showed power, battling into the endzone for his first NFL TD. But Hillman fumbled for the third time in the last 2 games and this one was returned again for a TD. We cannot afford gift points, so we may see the RB rotation adjusted with Moreno probably seeing additional carries going into the season. Something to keep an eye on. They may or may not see  action next week in the Arizona game, to limit chances for injuries. Moreno had a strong finish to the regular season but was injured in week 17  and his absence was missed in the playoff game with tbe Ravens. Hillman struggled at critical times. This could be an ongoing battle for a few games but I expect Montee Ball to eventually emerge as the Broncos #1 RB  but Hillman and Moreno getting a healthy dose of carries too through the 2013 season.
