1. Getting ready to play without Von Miller.
When in their base defense, Nate Irving will be the Sam LB(Von) with Stewart Bradley in the Mike LB. When the Broncos are in pass defense, Shaun Phillips will be the DE (Von) with Irving in either the Sam or Mike LB.
2. Trindon Holliday.
Could he be the new an improved Darin Sproles impact player on offense? He shone on offense this week with some touches as RB and wide reciever. If the Broncos are in the pistol formation look for him to be the sole RB behind Peyton or split as a slot or wide receiver. Ball security is key with him so watch for that too. If he can hang onto the ball he could be an impact player not only on special teams but on offense too!
3. Running game load.
Can Ronnie Hillman and Montee Ball show significant improvement over game 1 performances? If they can, they should be able to hang onto the 1 & 2 RB slots. In the absence of C. J. Anderson, look for touches for Lance Ball, Jakob Hester and Trinton Holliday.
4. Duke Ihenacho.
Can he be the next impact player ala Wesley Woodyard in 2012? He has leapfrogged Veterans David Bruton, Quinton Carter, Quentin Jammer, and last years starter at strong safetey, Mike Adams. He spent the offseason determined to improve his position with the Broncos. He spent most of last season as the 54th Man getting called up from the practice squad twice and returned to practice squad both times. Jack De Reo said of him,” We always talk about it being a competitive environment and letting guys compete and earn their way. And that’s kind of been the way for him about.”
5. The Tight End Competition.
With the absence of Joel Dreeson and the recent return of Jacob Tamme to camp, Virgil Green and Julious Thomas having great camps look for the performance of Green and Thomas and possibly from Tamme. Right now Thomas is #1 TE and Green is at#2.
Go Broncos and take it to the Seahawks early and often!!!
