Broncos Cut Ties With Running Back Willis McGahee

Willis McGahee.

The Broncos must feel their RB situation is in good hands with second-year player Ronnie Hillman and rookie second-round pick Montee Ball, as today the team released veteran RB Willis McGahee.

The back skipped voluntary organized team activities, to fulfill what he would only describe as “family obligations.”

McGahee did show up Tuesday for the first of a three-day mandatory minicamp, but didn’t make excuses for missing the OTA’s. “I didn’t choose not to come. I had reasons. Family reasons,” McGahee said.

McGahee took only a couple of snaps during team drills in the two-hour practice, he said.
