Is Making a Push For Manning the Right Move?

By Alan Gormley

So Peyton has landed, for a while at least. From this side of the pond it all seems a little bit strange. How come we are prepared to bust the bank for someone who hasn’t yet thrown a ball in anger since having FOUR neck operations? For someone whose own team (Colts) do not want him at any price?

I can only assume that he will have strict ‘must be able to perform’ conditions to any contract that might arise?

Now don’t get me wrong, much as I really like Tebow for all of his mechanical problems Manning, when fit, could really help us win something. And if, and it now seems to be a very big if, Tebow stays around then he could learn from the best – or could he? Isn’t Manning known for being a bit protective and precious about his art and the sharing of it?

But then again, perhaps Manning is just using Denver as a way to drive up his price leaving us with a severely depressed QB who must feel a real looser right now.

It all seems a little bit strange …

I couldn’t agree more. This sounds like Bowlen is making another move that is not totally thought out………….e.g. – Shanahan firing, McDaniels hiring/firing, and the Cutler debacle…….
