Prater Named AFC’s Special Teams Player of the Week

Broncos kicker Matt Prater has been named the AFC’s Special Teams Player of the Week, the team announced. Prater was 2-of-3 on field goal attempts in Sunday’s 13-10 overtime win over the Bears.

Prater tied a career long with a 59-yard field goal to send the game in overtime and connected from 51 yards out to give the Broncos their sixth win in a row and seventh win their last eight games. On the season, Prater is 17-of-23 on field goal attempts and has 40 touchbacks on 59 kickoffs.

This is the third AFC Special Teams Player of the Week award for Prater, who won the honor in Week 12 of the 2009 season and Week 5 of the 2008 season, his first full season with the Broncos.
