Broncos Promote CB Tony Carter To Active Roster

The Broncos announced that cornerback Tony Carter has been promoted from the practice squad to the 53-man roster. Safety Kyle McCarthy has been placed on waivers.

Undrafted out of Florida State in 2009, Carter signed with the Broncos and started one of his two games as a rookie, totaling three tackles and a pass defensed. Carter spent much of 2010 on the New England Patriots’ practice squad, appearing in two games at the end of the season.

Released by the Patriots before training camp, Carter spent the preseason with the Minnesota Vikings before re-joining the Broncos’ practice squad late last month.
