Broncos Sign Veteran CB Jonathan Wilhite

The Broncos decided not to grab any of the hundreds of players on the waiver wire, and it might have been for the better.  Going with someone on the waiver wire means that the Broncos would have also acquired the player’s contract as well.  The Broncos decided instead to take 4th year CB Jonathan Wilhite who was recently released by the New England Patriots.

Wilhite’s career stats are as follows: 93 tackles, 9 pass deflections, and 3 INTs.  Not bad for three years when you consider he’s only played in 39 games, only starting in 13 of those.

In order to make room for Wilhite, the Broncos waived Darcel McBath who has been struggling with injuries in his two seasons with the Broncos.

Wilhite will mainly be playing left CB and is listed 3rd behind Champ Bailey and Cassius Vaughn.
