Denver Reaches Injury Settlement with TE Quinn

The Broncos announced that they have reached an injury settlement with tight end Richard Quinn, waiving him from their injured reserve list.

A second round pick in the 2009 NFL Draft out of North Carolina, Quinn had been the top tight end on the depth chart prior to the lockout, but the additions of Daniel Fells and Dante Rosario relegated Quinn to the blocking tight end role.

Quinn injured his knee before the Broncos’ first preseason game.

Quinn has started four of his 29 games with the Broncos, catching one pass for nine yards. As the 64th overall pick of the 2009 draft, Quinn’s four-year contract was worth $2.99 million, of which $1.55 million was guaranteed. According to a league source, that included a $310,000 injury guarantee on his $565,000 base salary in 2012.
