Broncos Come to Terms with DE Derrick Harvey

The Broncos have agreed to terms free agent defensive end Derrick Harvey. Terms were not disclosed.

The eighth overall pick of the 2008 NFL Draft, Harvey recorded 88 tackles and 8 quarterback sacks in 47 games with the Jaguars, who released the former Florida Gator on Saturday.

With the hiring of John Fox this offseason, the Broncos are converting back to a 4-3 defense. 2009 Pro Bowl linebacker Elvis Dumervil, who missed 2010 with a torn pectoral muscle, is moving to one starting defensive end spot where he’ll play opposite 2009 first-round pick Robert Ayers projected on the other side.

2011 first-round linebacker Von Miller, who led the nation with 17 sacks in 2009, will also get plenty of opportunities to rush the quarterback, possibly from the defensive end position on passing downs.
