Von Miller Ready to Go When the Lockout Wraps Up

National Football Post reports that Broncos first round pick Von Miller is staying in shape and is itching to get going on his NFL career as soon as the current lockout ends.

The Butkus Award winner and first-round draft pick from Texas A&M is getting up to speed on the intricacies of the 4-3 defense from former Dallas Cowboys linebacker Dat Nguyen. Nguyen coaches linebackers for the Aggies.

“He played in the 4-3 in the NFL, he knows what to expect, so I’ve been working with him,” Miller told the Denver Post. “I want to have all of the terminology down, know my responsibilities. That’s my expectation, to be ready to do what I’m supposed to do in the Broncos’ defense.”

The Broncos are already penciling in the rookie as their starting strongside linebacker in coach John Fox’s 4-3 scheme.

“I know what’s waiting for me when I get there,” Miller said. “That’s what’s got me going these days. I know they expect a lot of me just as soon as things get going, and my expectation is to be that guy. To be the guy that comes in ready to go. That’s how I’ve been approaching it.”
