Broncos try to take out the Raiders in AFC West showdown

A couple of 2-4 teams take to the field in Denver Sunday as the Broncos look to take down the Raiders to move to 3-4 on the year.

Oakland last week lost to the 49ers, while the Broncos lost at home to the Jets in a game where they were close to the bitter end.

The Broncos remain last in the league in rushing, but that part of their game got a huge lift last week as they put up a season-high 145 yards as Denver outgained the Jets.

While they will look to do it again vs the Raiders, Kyle Orton and the Broncos pass game will look to hit some downfield shots as well. The pass happy club still put the ball up quite a bit vs New York, and if they are going to get a win vs Oakland, they need to be smart with the football.

Look for Tim Tebow to keep getting some looks as well, as the first-round draft pick has yet to throw a pass but ran for 23 yards and his first NFL touchdown last weekend. He’ll play again, and could start to see more playing time in the upcoming weeks.

Last week vs the Niners, Oakland finished with a season-worst 179 total yards as Jason Campbell went 8 of 21 for 83 yards and two interceptions. Campbellā€™s 10.7 passer rating was the worst for a Raiders quarterback since Ken Stabler posted a 9.9 against Cincinnati in 1975. He also hurt his knee in the loss, but seems to be ready to go.

Campbell likely will start vs Denver, as Kyle Boller also has been getting looks as a possible starter for the game as well. Boller appeared in seven games last season with St. Louis, throwing for 899 yards with three touchdowns and six interceptions.

The Raiders have lost four straight and 13 of 18 on the road, but two wins during that stretch came at Denver, including a 20-19 victory on December 20th.

Denver is the better team, and at home look for Orton to have a good day, the run game to keep improving, and the Broncos to win 20-13.
