Tebow Shows Flashes in Pro Debut in Loss

While the Broncos fell 33-24 to the Bengals in Cincy on Sunday, all eyes were on first-round QB Tim Tebow, who ran in a touchdown and ended the night throwing over 100 yards in the loss.

On the game’s final play, Tebow scrambled 7 yards for a touchdown, running over safety Kyries Hebert. While the play meant nothing to the outcome, it was maybe a sign of the future for Denver.

“I saw an opening, so I went to go get it and thankfully got in there,” Tebow said.

The QB got into the game in the second half, and overall went 8 of 13 for 105 yards. Most of the completions were dump off and check downs, but still, he seemed to have a decent grasp of the offense for his first time in a pro game.

He’s going up against former Browns QB Brady Quinn for the backup job, and played better than Quinn in the first preseason game, as Quinn went 8-for-16 for 68 with a pick.
