Man convicted of killing Darrent Williams gets life in prison

The gang member that killed Broncos CB Darrent Williams has been given life in prison as well as an extra 1,152 years:

Willie Clark, the gang member convicted of killing Denver Broncos cornerback Darrent Williams in a drive-by shooting, won’t ever be getting out of jail unless his sentence is overturned on appeal. A judge sentenced Clark to life in prison, plus 1,152 years

“Now, whenever someone tells me happy New Year, it hurts,” Williams’ mother, Rosalind Williams, said in court during her victim impact statement. “Now, when anybody says happy Mother’s Day, it hurts because my baby will never be able to tell me happy Mother’s Day again.” Williams said he needs to show remorse.

“Make your mom and your dad proud,” Williams said. “I know my son made me proud.” According to the Associated Press, Clark was smiling and whispering to his attorney during comments from Williams’ relatives.
