Broncos WR Marshall Being Talked About in the Big Apple

The Broncos have one very unhappy wide out. The Jets want one. The question now, can a deal actually be made between the Jets and Broncos for Brandon Marshall?

Yes, Marshall is being talked about again in the Big Apple, as the Jets would love to give rookie signal caller Mark Sanchez a big-name target when he and the team starts the season on September 13th. Today’s Newsday reports that the Jets have talked recently about a deal for the unhappy Marshall.

The Jets are seriously exploring the possibility of trading for Broncos receiver Brandon Marshall, according to a league source familiar with the Jets’ situation. Marshall, who was suspended Friday by the Broncos for conduct detrimental to the team, is one of the most talented but troubled receivers in the game. He has expressed a desire for a new contract through much of the offseason and preseason and also has asked to be traded.

Although coach Rex Ryan repeatedly has said he is satisfied with his receivers, the Jets have taken a look at acquiring an established receiver. Jerricho Cotchery is the Jets’ only proven veteran receiver. It is believed the Broncos would want a first-round draft pick in any deal for Marshall, but it is unlikely the Jets would pay that high a price.

Marshall could be a cancer, like he is nw in Denver, but he can also be a great wide out when he puts his mind to it. The question now is can a deal be reached, and if so, would Marshall come to the Jets with a passion to play the game again? Or would he make things tough for them as well?
