Pro Football Weekly reports that the Broncos open camp today with their two first-round picks:
The Broncos opened training camp Friday, but two important players were absent from the club’s first practice.
First-round picks RB Knowshon Moreno and DE-OLB Robert Ayers have yet to sign contracts and were not present. Moreno is expected to be the team’s featured back and Ayers likely will start at outside linebacker or defensive end.
They are the first Broncos rookies to hold out since RB Tatum Bell did so in ’04. Moreno was the 12th overall pick at this year’s draft and Denver plucked Ayers at No. 18.
