Will Moss Shed the “Bust” Label with a Change of Positions?

While the Broncos secondary seems to be getting a lot of love these days (Ok, we were part of that as well yesterday), some are still wondering what the heck is it going to be like on the rest of the defense for the 2009 season.

One player that the team wants to see step up is Jarvis Moss, who was selected by the Broncos with the 17th overall pick in the 2007 NFL Draft. So far he’s been a bust, but Moss could be on the verge of shedding that label, as he’ll change spots in the 09 season.

Broncos rookie head coach Josh McDaniels will be putting a 3-4 defense in place, shifting Moss to outside linebacker. “It’s a huge transition going from defensive line all of your life to linebacker,” Moss said. “With the outside linebacker position that I am playing we rush a lot. It’s just a matter of getting in my playbook, being open-minded and willing to learn.

“It’s coming to me quick. I’ve learned so much about my position and about the 3-4 defense here. I’m excited. This is something I feel like I could have been doing from the very first day in the NFL.”
