3 Key Moments of the Broncos 09 Schedule from NFL.com

Here is some advice for first-year Broncos coach Josh McDaniels: If you lose to your former mentor, Bill Belichick, in Week 5 at Denver, don’t accuse him of cheating. Former Jets coach and Patriots coordinator Eric Mangini would likely advise against it. McDaniels will get his first crack at Belichick, but keep in mind that former coordinators Mangini and Romeo Crennel were 1-7 against Belichick.

Former Bill Parcells pupils clash when the Broncos play host to the Mangini-coached Browns in Week 2. McDaniels and Mangini were defensive assistants together on the Patriots coaching staff before McDaniels was promoted to Patriots QB coach in 2004 and Mangini left to coach the Jets in 2006.

The Broncos don’t get their first look at new Chiefs QB Matt Cassel until Week 13 at Kansas City. But the real question is how will the Broncos receive a home-wrecker when the Chiefs finish the season in Denver on Jan. 3?
