Broncos Get Back DE Peterson, Sign RB Arrigton and QB Simms
The Broncos have continued to make a number of roster moves, and Wednesday was no exception. The team finally did come to terms with running back J.J. Arrington, this after they looked to have a deal, then have it called off, only to now have it in place again.
The team also came to terms with one of their own free agents, as defensive lineman Kenny Peterson has agreed to terms with the club on a three-year deal. Peterson, a six-year veteran, was a third-round pick of the Packers in 2003. He was cut by Green Bay in September 2006, and has spent the last three seasons with the Broncos.
There is also word that the team has come to terms with 27-year-old Chris Simms, as he could come in and be the backup QB to Jay Cutler. Simms was with the Titans last season, but was the teams third-string QB and didn’t get very much playing time. Simms had spent the rest of 2006 and all of 2007 on injured reserve, and eventually was released.
