Former Colts defensive end Darrell Reid signed a three-year contract with the Broncos, agent Blake Baratz said. The contract is worth $7 million and up to $10 million, with incentives. Reid will have a chance to compete for a starting spot in the Broncos’ new 3-4 scheme and he might even play outside linebacker for the Broncos. “It’s a unique opportunity,” Baratz said. “He’s really excited.”

I honestly don’t see how adding Reid helps the Broncos at all. The colts play a cover 2 scheme which is a lot different from the 3-4. The guy played defensive tackle for them and he is 6-2, 288. There is no way he could play outside linebacker because he lacks the range needed for coverage and he is too small too play DT in a 3-4 scheme. So much for not signing players that won’t help your team Coach Mcdaniels.
