On the same day that the Broncos are reportedly close to landing the linebackers coach of the Oakland Raiders, the Broncos have hired the former defensive line coach of the San Diego Chargers.
Wayne Nunnely has signed a two-year contract to bring his 3-4 expertise to Denver, according to Mike Klis of the Denver Post.
“It’s a change that I felt I needed to do at this stage of my career,” Nunnely said. “I’ve had a great 12 years here with the Chargers through three or four different head coaches and a number of coordinators and I just felt like I needed a new challenge, a new environment.”
Likely enhancing Nunnely’s incentive was the fact that the Chargers didn’t, you know, want him back.
