Broncos and Fans Hoping RB Torain Can Have an Impact

The Broncos are trying to put that awful Monday night game from two weeks ago behind them, and will hope maybe a new player in the lineup can provide a spark for an offense that has been going the wrong way the past few weeks. That player is rookie Ryan Torain, who is looking to get his first playing time of the season Sunday vs Miami.

“I know, I know, it feels like forever,” Torain said. “It hasn’t gone fast. I’ve thought about it every day. If you play football you want to play. It’s no fun to wait to play.”

It was close to 400 days ago that Torain carried a football. Back during a game running the ball for Arizona State, his foot got stepped on by a player against Washington. He suffered a Lisfranc injury that has kept him on the sideline. Then, as he was playing for Denver during the training camp, he suffered a fracture near his elbow that has kept him off the field.

His time has finally come, and Bronco fans can’t wait to see what he can do. “I thought about coming back every day,” Torain said. “I’m ready to get back out there. I’m ready to play a game. I haven’t played one in the National Football League, and I’m excited to see what happens. It was my motivation: Nobody wants to sit on the sidelines; that’s what I used to push myself.”

Right now his presence can’t hurt, and if things go right, maybe he can help the team get their offense back on track from the slump it’s on.
