Veteran WR Smith Retiring Today

Veteran Broncos wideout Rod Smith is expected to announce his retirement this afternoon.  He played 13 years, then sat out all last season with a bad hip.  Smith’s career numbers lead Denver in almost every receiving category.  He caught more than 800 passes and scored 68 touchdowns.

Broncos Ink Williams

The Broncos signed fourth-round draft pick Jack Williams yesterday to the cornerback spot.  With training camp starting Friday, only the top two Bronco draft choices are left unsigned  –  kick returner Eddie Royal and tackle Ryan Clady.

Broncos Sign 7th Round Pick FB Peyton Hills

The Broncos today signed 7th round draft fullback Peyton Hills. He was the 227th overall pick in the April draft. The FB from the University of Arkansas is 6-foot-2, 250 pounds, and put up 23 TD’s in three years in college at Arkansas. He also put up a total of 2,624 all-purpose yards.

WR’s Colbert and Jackson to Battle it Out for the Two Spot During Camp
