Wide receiver Rod Smith is stepping away from the NFL. Smith officially announced his retirement Thursday afternoon at team headquarters. Smith amassed 849 career receptions, 11,389 receiving yards and 68 touchdowns in 183 games after joining Denver as an undrafted free agent out of Missouri Southern in 1994. The three-time Pro Bowler played his entire 13-year career in with the Broncos, but it essentially ended when he was placed on the reserve/retired list in February. Smith racked up 152 receiving yards in Denver’s victory in Super Bowl 33, tied for fifth-best in Super Bowl history.
