Broncos Begin Workouts; Await Word On Marshall

The Broncos open their 2008 training camp this morning at Dove Valley.  They signed second-round draft pick Eddie Royal yesterday.  They also expect to have a deal with first-rounder Ryan Clady before the first practice at 11:15 a.m.  Coach Mike Shanahan has a lot of new faces to work in, but he’s most concerned about wideout Brandon Marshall.  Shanahan says Marshall was in New York last week for a meeting with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, to review Marshall’s off-the-field troubles.  Goodell could suspend Marshall, but Shanahan doesn’t expect that.  While Marshall has never been convicted of a crime, he is awaiting trial on a drunk-driving count.  Domestic-violence charges were dropped after an arrest in March of last year.
