Veteran Smith and Rookie Moss Both Done for 07

MossThe career of one of the greatest wide outs in Broncos history may be over.  For now, at least the 2007 is done for receiver Rod Smith.  The team shut Smith down on Thursday with a hip injury.  Smith spent the first six weeks of the season on the physically unable to perform list, but returned to practice on October 24th for the first time since undergoing extensive hip surgery more than eight months ago.  Right now it’s not known if the 37-year-old Smith will attempt a comeback in 2008.

The Broncos also will be void of their first-round draft choice for the rest of the season, as rookie Jarvis Moss is done after he suffered a season-ending leg injury in practice.  He broke his right fibula and suffered torn ligaments in his right ankle when his foot caught in the turf during a nine-on-seven drill.  Moss He appeared in six games, all as a backup, and registered 12 tackles and one sack.
