Walker Out About 6 Weeks; Bailey Limited in Practice

Bailey vs the Steelers two years ago

While Javon Walker is going to be on the sidelines for about 6 weeks, the Broncos may also be missing a big part of the defense when they entertain the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday evening at Invesco Field.  Corner Champ Bailey was back on the practice field Friday, but in a limited role.  He missed the rest of the week of practice with a strained right quad.  “If I feel like if I can go 100 percent, I’m definitely going to go out there,” Bailey said. “I feel like I’ve got two-and-a-half days to get myself ready. That’s enough time. I’ll go out there and see how it feels.”  Bailey would be on the hook to cover Steelers wide out Hines Ward, who is coming back from a knee injury but appears to be ready to go.  “He’ll know if he can play or can’t play,” coach Mike Shanahan said. “Champ is pretty direct. He’s a very tough player. Obviously he’d like to help our football team win, but he knows if he’s injured or not.”
