Walker to Miss Time for Arthroscopic Surgery on Knee

The Broncos look like they will be without starting wide out Javon Walker, and they may be without him for sometime. Reports say that Walker is expected to undergo arthroscopic surgery on his right knee. Walker is expected to be out at least a month. Mike Shanahan stated on Thursday that “Doctors don’t think it’s very serious, but serious enough to go in there and clean it out because he’s been off of it for a few weeks and it hasn’t gotten much better.” It was two seasons ago that Walker underwent surgery for a torn ACL, and then needed a follow-up to that when he came to the Broncos in 2006. He was on fire last season against the Steelers, and they will miss him on Sunday night at home. Last season in the teams meeting in Pittsburgh, Walker outleaped Ike Taylor for one score, then ran in another on a reverse in a Broncos win. “I really don’t notice it until everything is done and it’s time to calm down,” Walker said of the pain. “When I’m out there in the midst of playing, I don’t even notice it.”
