Nalen Out For Year
Posted by Stephen Rhodes on October 8th, 2007 filed in NewsThe Denver Broncos are still feeling the effects of their loss last Sunday to the San Diego Chargers as they learned that starting center Tom Nalen will miss the remainder of this season with a torn right biceps muscle, according to SportsTicker and confirmed by Broncos head coach Mike Shanahan.
Nalen, a five-time Pro Bowler, suffered the injury in the first quarter of the Chargers-Broncos game last Sunday. According to Shanahan, “He played the whole game with a torn bicep, and not many guys will do that. We couldn’t run inside running plays, just outside running plays, because he didn’t have any strength in there. That kind of gives you an idea of what kind of player he is.”
It is not considered a career-ending injury; Shanahan added, “No, he should be fully recovered in four months. It’s not a career-ending injury, and should be fine and ready to go next season.” Currently, guard/center Chris Myers is the backup to Nalen.
