Marijuana Group Wants Williams in Denver

Maybe it’s just a pipe dream. Today in Denver, a billboard debuted next to Invesco Field – urging running back Ricky Williams to join the Broncos. Williams is still under contract with the Dolphins. He just finished an 18-month suspension for marijuana, and applied for reinstatement to the National Football League on Monday. Mason Tvert thought up the billboard that says, “Ricky, come to Denver… Where the people support your SAFER choice.” It features a player in dreadlocks wearing a blue-and-orange jersey. Tvert heads a lobbying group named SAFER, which persuaded Denver voters to de-criminalize small amounts of pot for adults. Now, he’s campaigning to make marijuana arrests the lowest priority for Denver Police.
