The Broncos have released tight end Stephen Alexander, which should open the door for more action for Tony Scheffler.  Alexander’s $1.425 salary has been guaranteed fot this season, making the move somewhat of a shock.  The team then signed Chad Mustard for the second time in a month.  Alexander last season pulled in 18 passes, two of which went for touchdowns.  He had been hurt with a calf injury throughout training camp, and was listed as questionable for today’s game vs the Raiders.  Mustard played in 12 games last season for the Broncos, including four starts. He caught two passes for 23 yards
