Walker Breaks Silence as Broncos Camp Rolls On

Bronco Camp hits Day Five at Dove Valley today. Yesterday, receiver Javon Walker talked to reporters for the first time since teammate Darrent Williams died on New Year’s Day. Walker was in the limo with Williams when the bullets struck. But he wanted to talk about football only, not his version of the attack. Coach Mike Shanahan says Walker had a great practice. But for the team overall, Shanahan calls it only an “average” day – as players’ legs started to get tired. Shanahan also says there’s no doubt veteran wideout Rod Smith will make the team – even though he’s still rehabilitating after hip surgery and may not practice for weeks.
