Wide out Kircus to Stand Trial for Assault

Bronco wide receiver David Kircus will stand trial for assault.  Yesterday, a judge in Arapahoe County ruled there is enough evidence to send the case to a jury.  Kircus does not deny punching homeowner Jeff Krieger in May, when Krieger asked him to leave a birthday party in Centennial.  Kircus claims it was self defense, and actually passed a team lie-detector days after the arrest.  He drove away from court yesterday without answering questions.  Kircus’s lawyers say Krieger may have been drunk, which could cloud his memory of what happened.  Kircus faces two-to-six years in prison, if convicted.  Arraignment is August 21st.
